I was born to be a teacher but spent most of my career as a writer, editor, and communications professional. Now I take what I’ve learned and share it with others.
After more than four years of substitute teaching, tutoring, and helping adults learn English, I've found a deep passion for helping students of all ages grow with confidence.
My focus is making students believe in themselves, and their ability to learn difficult things. I instill confidence in students and adults all through the educational development process.
One of my favorite moments as a teacher was when a child was asked what he would remember about me. He said, “Miss Stern tells me that I’m smart, and I believe her.”

Everyone has their own style of learning and educational needs. We will figure out what you or your child needs to improve based upon where you are right now. Building confidence is a primary focus of how I work with kids and adults.
After four years of substitute teaching, tutoring, and helping adults learn English, I've found a deep passion for helping students of all ages tackle subjects ranging from reading, writing and language arts to science, history and presentations or speeches.
Most of my career was spent as a writer, editor and communications/marketing professional.
I’ve written for the NY Times, Business Week, Money and other news outlets, as well as social media. I was a speechwriter for the directors of the National Science Foundation. I built my own communications company and led it successfully for over a decade.
And now I give back.
